The Barella² Heavy Duty Shower and Transport Trolley is a robust, electrically operated patient handling solution designed for safe transport, showering, and clinical care of bariatric users. With an increased Safe Working Load (SWL) of 225 kg, it is specifically engineered for demanding healthcare environments where strength, hygiene, and manoeuvrability are essential.

This electrically powered model features a rechargeable battery system and is operated via a simple hand control, allowing smooth height adjustment and bi-directional tilt. The tilting function supports both patient comfort and effective drainage during showering, reducing manual handling requirements for caregivers.

The trolley frame benefits from a special anti-corrosion treatment, ensuring long-term durability and resistance to moisture, cleaning agents, and intensive daily use. This makes the Barella² particularly suitable for hospitals, care homes, and other high-dependency environments where hygiene and reliability are critical.

The mattress base is manufactured from high-quality ABS plastic, providing a strong, hygienic, and easy-to-clean surface. Key structural components, including the side rails and fasteners, are made from stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance and long-term performance. The washable castors with inner guards further enhance infection control and ease of maintenance.

For patient safety and caregiver convenience, the trolley is fitted with full-length safety side rails incorporating a secure locking mechanism. These rails can be lowered easily with one hand, enabling efficient patient transfers between bed and stretcher. When required, the overall width of the trolley can be reduced by folding in the side rails, allowing attendants to manoeuvre through narrow doorways and confined spaces with ease.

The Barella² is equipped with an integrated drainage outlet and a 1500 mm water drainage hose, allowing effective water removal during showering. Drainage efficiency can be further improved by utilising the trolley’s tilt function, supporting thorough hygiene routines while minimising water pooling.

Mobility is enhanced by 150 mm diameter castors, each designed for smooth movement across a variety of floor surfaces. A central locking system ensures stability during patient care, while the directional lock improves control and steering accuracy when transporting patients over longer distances.
