What is LOLER?

It requires that lifting operations are properly planned, supervised, and carried out safely, and that equipment such as cranes, patient hoists, lifts, and accessories are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure they are fit for use

How often do I requite a LOLER?

Under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER 1998), equipment used to lift people must be examined by a competent person at least once every six months.

What Equipment needs to be LOLER serviced?

In healthcare settings, LOLER applies to any equipment used to lift or move patients, as well as the accessories that go with it. This includes patient hoists (mobile, ceiling mounted, and standing aids), slings, spreader bars, and tracks. It also covers other lifting devices such as bath lifts, chair lifts, and any equipment designed to raise or lower people.

What should I do if my LOLER certificate runs out

Please contact us on 01772 814555 and we can mark your request as urgent and endeavour to go out as soon as possible. We recommend the equipment is not used until the service has been completed.

What is the process of arranging a LOLER service and 6 monthly checks?

Once you are happy to proceed we will then get back to you with possible dates and times to work around you. If you have had a service from us previously, you will be contacted by the team 2 weeks before it is due to arrange the next service.
