Overview
The Balmoral II Replacement Mattress is Harvest Healthcare’s top-of-the-range pressure-reducing active mattress, designed for the prevention and management of pressure ulcers in high-dependency care environments. It is recommended for patients at very high risk of developing pressure damage and is suitable for supporting the treatment of up to Stage 4 pressure ulcers.
Engineered for advanced clinical performance, the Balmoral II combines dynamic alternating pressure therapy with integrated foam support to deliver a highly reliable and effective pressure care solution. It is designed as a full replacement mattress for use in hospitals, care homes, and specialist healthcare settings.
Advanced Alternating Pressure System
The mattress consists of 27 individual cells, including 23 alternating air cells and 4 static pillow section cells. These work together to provide continuous pressure redistribution while maintaining stability and comfort for the user.
The alternating air cells operate in a controlled cycle, inflating and deflating to reduce prolonged pressure on vulnerable areas of the body. This helps to improve circulation and supports the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers.
Each air cell is made from pure PU material and is fully interchangeable, allowing for simple maintenance, cleaning, and replacement where required.
Integrated Foam Support Layer
Beneath the alternating cell system is a 50mm foam base, which provides additional support and ensures continued pressure relief even in the event of power failure.

The Balmoral II is designed with patient transport in mind. It includes a connector with a transport cap that helps maintain air pressure within the mattress during movement. When used correctly, the mattress can remain inflated for approximately 24 hours without power.
For emergency situations, the system is equipped with a CPR function that allows rapid deflation and immediate disconnection of the pump, ensuring quick response capability when required.
The mattress is also designed to support bedrail compliance on UK-manufactured profiling beds, ensuring safe integration within standard healthcare equipment.
