I had a wonderful time on Thursday with the occupational therapy team at Bradford City Council, who kindly invited me in to demonstrate the AX35 Pro lifter. I was made to feel so welcome, and it was a real privilege to be part of their conversation about emergency lifting.

After my demonstration, the team dived straight in. They explored the lifter with real curiosity, tested it alongside the Sara Stedy, Molift Raiser Pro, turntables, and slide boards combined with slide sheets, and came up with some thoughtful solutions and practical challenges to consider. That kind of hands-on, honest feedback is exactly what makes these visits so valuable.

Occupational therapists hold a very special place in my heart. Without them in 1992, I simply wouldn’t have been able to go home and live an independent life for the last 35 years. Every time I work alongside an OT team, I’m reminded just how life-changing their expertise is.

I truly believe the AX35 Pro has a definite place in the lifting tier. It is quite possibly the most stable and quietest lifting solution on the market, with a higher safe working load than the DHG Raizer II and far greater stability for the service user during the lift.

The Mangar Elk and Camel deserve real credit too. Their safe working load is phenomenal, and they do exactly what they’re designed to do exceptionally well. The trade-offs are the footprint needed to use them, their noise and size, and less stability for the person being lifted.
So, for the general population of service users, my ranking would be:
AX35 Pro
Mangar Elk and Mangar Camel
DHG Raizer II

A huge thank you to the Bradford team for your time, your openness, and your brilliant ideas. If your team would like a demonstration of the AX35 Pro, I’d love to hear from you. Call us on 01772 814555.
