Robert from Oxfordshire is continuing to enjoy a relaxing soak in the bath following the installation of a Prism Freeway Transactive Xtra 130 ceiling track hoist by enableliving.

78-year-old Robert has Parkinson’s and an ongoing issue with his back, along with an injured shoulder.  “These conditions have combined to affect Robert’s general mobility, with one of the most challenging tasks being getting in and out of the bath, which was becoming increasingly frustrating for Robert as he had always loved a nice hot bath and, unfortunately, showers were not really an option due to Robert’s restricted movement,” explained wife Julia.

Although Julia helped Robert in and out of the bath as his arms and legs are not strong enough to support him, they both knew this was far from ideal and agreed that some form of hoist would be worth looking at so they started researching online to see what was available.  “When we found enableliving and the Prism Freeway Transactive Xtra 130, we knew it was what we were looking for as it only needed fixing to the ceiling (under the bathroom floor was a maze of pipes)” explained Robert.

Following on from a telephone conversation, Rob Wilson from enableliving visited Robert and Julia to conduct an assessment and survey, after which we booked an installation date, and four months later, they couldn’t be happier.  “They said that installing the hoist would be simple with minimal inconvenience, and they were true to their word.  I wanted a hoist that was well built, easy to use, and would let me enjoy my daily hot bath, and thanks to EnableLiving, that is exactly what I got. From my perspective, the hoisting action is very smooth, and the sling is equally comfortable while Julia finds the controls to be very user-friendly,” commented Robert.

“We were very impressed with everyone we spoke to at enableliving. They were friendly, knowledgeable and never used any hard-sell tactics, which we really appreciated. We would not hesitate in recommending enableliving and the Prism Freeway Transactive Xtra 130 ceiling hoist to anyone with a family member who needs help getting in and out of the bath or with other forms of transferring,” concluded Julia.
